Thank you for the question. The way to use the true vertical line is to use the measurement type of distance_A_to_B_vertical(Cy) in the measurement wizard (You can find it in Analysis tab of Record detail page). For example, if you want to measure the horizontal distance from Pogonion to Nasion-vertical line, select the measurement type as distance_A_to_B_vertical(Cy), select Pogonion for Point A, Nasion for Point B and Menton for Point C. Then, a true vertical line will be drawn from Nasion to Menton's y coordinate and the distance from it to Pogonion will be measured. Thanks for using WebCeph.

Hi, how can you create an angle between a line and the true vertical line? I don't want a distance, only an angle

Dear Doctor, thank you for your inquiry. You can create this measurement using Angle_AB_TVL(CW) or Angle_AB_TVL(CCW). Here, TVL stands for True Vertical Line, CW means Clockwise, and CCW means Counter Clockwise, which represents the positive direction. Please refer to the illustration displayed when selecting the Measurement Type in the Measurement Wizard to confirm the correct direction. Thank you.

Dear Doctor, thank you for your inquiry. Currently, WEBCEPH does not support drawing auxiliary lines such as the True Vertical Line (TVL) itself. However, it is possible to measure the distance from a specific point to a TVL passing through a defined landmark.
For example, suppose you would like to measure the horizontal distance from the TVL passing through Glabella to Pronasale. In this case, please select distance_A_to_B_vertical(Cy). Then, set Point A as the target point (in this example, Pronasale), Point B as the reference point on the TVL (Glabella), and Point C as any inferior landmark that can serve as the lower boundary of the TVL, such as Menton.
This will allow you to measure the horizontal distance from the TVL passing through Glabella to Pronasale. Thank you.
