Wits

carlos.bobadilla96

How is the wits appraisal calculed? between which points and plane?

WebCeph Manager

Dear Doctor, Thank you for your inquiry. Wits Appraisal measures the anteroposterior relationship between the maxilla (A-point) and mandible (B-point) by projecting these points onto the occlusal plane and measuring the distance between the projections (A' and B').

can you please add the picture of how is wits appraisal is set on web ceph ?

+ value : point A' (the projection of A-point) is ahead (anterior) of point B' (the projection of B-point) on the occlusal plane. This typically indicates a Class II skeletal relationship, where the maxilla is forward or the mandible is retruded.

- value : point A' is behind (posterior) point B'. This typically indicates a Class III skeletal relationship, where the mandible is protruded or the maxilla is retruded.

Beta Angle

carlos.bobadilla96

Hi! How can i include beta angle in the measuremente assistant?
I cant find the way to do the perpendicular from point A to Co-B plane, and then calculate the angle between AB to the perpendicular

WebCeph Manager

Dear doctor. Thank you for your question. We'll investigate the beta angle. The beta angle is confirmed to be defined by the angle formed by two specifically defined lines. Therefore, it is judged to be difficult with the current custom definition method of WebCeph, but we will review whether there is another possible way. Thank you for your comments.

Dear doctor. The beta angle can be measured by defining the above in the custom measurement wizard. I hope the answer was helpful. Thanks for using WebCeph.

I'll try it, thanks!

Can you please review it again or provide another workaround? I tried creating the measurement following your instructions, however it seems to be forming an angle between A-B to Co-B. Here is an example: https://images.app.goo.gl/R4BAg6mMUia66tbZ6

APDI

carlos.bobadilla96

Hi! i need to know how is the automatically measurement of APDI. Its by the original form (sums of varius angles) or its by the simplified form (angle between frantkfurt plane-AB)

WebCeph Manager

Dear doctor. Thank you for your question. APDI in WebCeph's measurement library is defined as the sum of the following angles: 1) Facial angle, 2) A-B plane angle, 3) Palatal plane angle. Thank you so much.

Thanks! Very useful information, as always!
