I'm losing a lot of resolution when I crop photos - how can I prevent this?

WebCeph Manager

Dear Doctor, Thank you very much for your inquiry. When uploading images to WEBCEPH, they are automatically resized to a width of 1005 pixels. This is to ensure a smoother and more optimized experience across various devices and screen environments. Rather than storing the original image as-is, our system adjusts it to suit the platform environment. We kindly ask for your understanding regarding this matter. Please note that if an image is heavily zoomed and cropped, the loss in resolution may become more noticeable. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you keep a separate copy of the original image on your local device. If you crop or re-download an image that has already been uploaded, you may notice a reduction in resolution and quality compared to the original. This is part of our system’s optimization process for effective analysis within the WEBCEPH platform. Additionally, please note that WEBCEPH is not intended to serve as a long-term cloud storage solution for patient data, but rather as an online orthodontic imaging and analysis tool. We sincerely appreciate your continued use of WEBCEPH. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time. Thank you.
