"뼈를 분리했는데 괜챦아요? 잘 붙어요? 뼈가 다시 생기나요? "
"수술 할 때 뼈를 분리 한다고 하셨는데, 핀으로 고정을 하면, 평생 가지고 있어야 하나요?

턱교정 수술 전 상담이나 수술 후 CT 평가 시,
위와같은 질문을 많이 받게 됩니다.

실제 위 케이스에서 보는바와 같이
턱교정 수술 직후 수 mm 정도 cortical line이 분리되어있더라도,
대부분의 경우 1년 후 CT를 관찰해 보면, 해면골 상방으로 다시 피질골이 생성되어 전체적인 연결성을 회복하고 있음을 확인할 수 있습니다.

고정 핀/스크류의 경우는 특별한 경우를 제외하고는(일부 환자에서 감염이나, Loosening등에 의해 미리 제거하는경우도 있습니다.) 술 후 1년 전후로 제거가 가능합니다.(술자에 따라서는 6개월 이후부터 제거를 하시는 분들도 많습니다.)

핀 제거는 꼭 해야하는것은 아닙니다.다만, 늦어지면 핀 상방으로 뼈가 덮여서 제거 시간이 더 오래 걸리게되니 (마취시간도 길어지고, 오래 수술하면 아무래도 부기도 더 심해지니) 계획하신다면 1년내외로 제거하는것을 추천합니다.

비대칭 환자의 턱교정 수술 케이스입니다.
This case is in regards to a patient with facial asymmetry.

3D 프로그램을 이용한 진단은, 현재상태의 정확한 입체적인 파악,

[Column.5] Effect of MEAW treatment with anterior crossbite

The theme of this column is treatment of ant. crossbite using MEAW.

MEAW is short for multi-loop edgewise wire and is a wire with multiple shoe hooks.

MEAW has both stiffness and elasticity, helping to effectively move teeth.

Ant. crossbite is difficult to treat with orthodontic treatment alone.

In general, surgical correction is preferred.

If the CR guide is guided to the edge bite, bite jumping may be considered with orthodontic treatment alone.

MEAW can be quite helpful for this.

Placing a MEAW in the mandible and applying Class III elastics are useful.
