The theme of this column is treatment of ant. crossbite using MEAW. MEAW is short for multi-loop edgewise wire and is a wire with multiple shoe hooks. MEAW has both stiffness and elasticity, helping to effectively move teeth. Ant. crossbite is difficult to treat with orthodontic treatment alone. In general, surgical correction is preferred. If the CR guide is guided to the edge bite, bite jumping may be considered with orthodontic treatment alone. MEAW can be quite helpful for this.
